Dear Friends of Marriage,
The New York Senate is expected to vote on the same-sex marriage bill in today's special session.
1. CALL! Please take a moment right now to call your state senator, urging him to vote NO on the same-sex marriage bill. (Click here to find the phone number.) Then call three friends and ask them to do the same!
2. COME! A physical presence at the statehouse is crucial. If you can possibly clear your schedule, please come to the statehouse in Albany this afternoon to make a physical statement against same-sex marriage. Jason McGuire of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms will be coordinating efforts on the ground in Albany. Look for him to be standing with a sign outside the Senate lobby. (Click here for directions to the statehouse.)
The special session is slated to start at noon. The first order of business is expected to be the deficit reduction package. If final agreement can be reached on a bill closing the budget deficit, sources indicate that the Senate will move quickly to the same-sex marriage bill.
The final vote will undoubtedly be close, and there are still enough undecided/undeclared votes that the outcome could go either way.
Please -- stop whatever you're doing and make a phone call to your state senator right now. The future of marriage in New York hangs in the balance.
Faithfully,Brian S. Brown

Imitation homosexual marriage would be a much better description of what the New Jersey legislature intends to vote on, as well as attacking men's masculinity and women's feminism. A real marriage is between a man and a woman and always will be.
Sorry New Yorkers: I confused your state with the corrupt state of New Jersey. Also in Maine the Catholic Diocese seems to be under a frontal assault in the media for helping collect contributions to finance the repeal of homosexual marriage. It's very important that those who believe that religious organizations can have a role in the political process stand up for your rights, which are under direct assault by homosexuals.

If religious organizations are going to dabble in politics, then they should expect to receive criticism for policy positions, especially those that hurt children, like illegal same-sex marriage. Just because you're "religious," doesn't mean you are immune from criticism.
YYYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!

THE BIGOTS LOSE! THE BIGOTS LOSE!
THE BIGOTS LOSE! THE BIGOTS LOSE!
It would be so much simpler and go a long way toward extracting an over-bearing government from everybody's lives if these people would push for the complete privatization of all marriage! The state has no business licensing or regulating private human relationships. Here's my message to both homo- and heterosexuals: Don't beg for the government's recognition. Don't ask for their permission. Don't demand that everyone else bless your behavior or your personal commitments, and don' t interfere in mine.
Kevin, I'm uncertain I understand your position. Are you suggesting that making same sex marriage illegal is somehow harmful to children? If so, I'd like to know how you come to this conclusion.
Personally, I believe that insisting that marriage, as recognized by society and the laws of society, remain between a man and a woman, who can by the laws of nature, procreate and raise a family of their own, is the healtiest situation for children. They do best when they have a mother and a father who are biologically female and male. They also deserve to know that marriage is between a man and a woman so they don't think that same sex relationships are simply an equal option, as compared to the natural male/female relationships.
Same Sex relationships have significant health risks that those who promote them want us to ignore. Children deserve the right to know the difference if they are considering these "alternate" arrangements.
God Bless,
Carol Marie
Carol? ridiculous!!! Same Sex relationships have a significant health risk? are you insinuationg that all humans don't have the same health risks?? how so?? Does a womans private parts not get injured now and then during sex? Cervical cancer??? Prostate cancer (gay or str8)??? etc etc Come on now...we ALL have significant health risks! or are you going bak to the "gay cancer" ewwww (HIV) scary, is a partner in a commiteted same sex marriage going to suddenly aquire HIV when both don't have it? kinda like the Virgin Mary got pregnant? it's a miracle!!! anddddddddd do you think that if a child grows up to know that all relationships deserve equal respect that he or she will suddenly feel he or she has a choice on which way to go??? absurd!!! or are you saying if you knew you had a choice or if you felt it was respectable you might have chosen a woman? when did you decide to be str8? was it difficult? I am dying to hear what significant health risk committed coulple in a same sex relationship have that committed couple in a opposite relationship are immune to... should be facinating!!! Don't make me wait too long k....although I am certain that one of your cronnies will be hot on the topic!
"Kevin, I’m uncertain I understand your position. Are you suggesting that making same sex marriage illegal is somehow harmful to children? If so, I’d like to know how you come to this conclusion."
Yes. Marriage is proven to be better for children. Children do better when raised by married, rather than unmarried parents, according to NOM's Maggie Gallagher.
It is frustrating and disturbing that so many on the left in the US, including many in New York and New Jersey, keep pushing for same-sex marriage (SSM) when the SSM movement and the gay/lesbian rights movement in general has eviscerated the left.
The main forces behind the SSM movement are militant feminist lesbians and their allies among mainstream feminist groups. This lesbian movement is designed to divide men and women as it spreads distrust of and hostility towards men. This misandry has spread like a cancer among the groups of the left to the point that the left is basically self-destructive and unsustainable, as it has no unifying message or solidarity and it is virtually impossible that it will develop either for the foreseeable future.
The elites of the corporate media and the rest of the corporate world certainly recognized this phenomenon long ago and have lent their support to the SSM movement in order to (1) transform the left into a movement primarily concerned with gay/lesbian and other social issues; and (2) further erode the power of the left to effect change with regard to economic/tax issues, in part by making sure it remains unappealing to many religious individuals concerned with social justice and economic fairness.
Does anyone know if;the bill passes, are there any options of repealing in NY?

Adam,
Once the senate passes it -- it would be very unlikely that that be overturned. That could make or break it.
Final vote: 24-38. Bill fails
i sent you fax and posted comment.
