The mathematics proves that the line of 10% of the population being homosexual is a lie.

We've all done it.

Don't stop teaching your kids algebra. 🙂 ]]>

I took 17,000,000 and took away 2 zeros and got 170,000; and I did that twice! And I'm the "math parent" helping my kids with algebra. Oh, well, so much for my math skills. I should stick with my verbal skills. Thanks.

]]>I don't know of any marriage licensing application in the USA (or in Europe), that demands proof of sexual orientation in order to qualify for a marriage certificate. As far as I know, 2 straight individuals can enter into a same-sex "marriage" or civil union, just as two "gay" opposite-sexed individuals can enter into a man/woman marriage. The option to marry is not based on sexual orientation. How's that for justice?

]]>"My math estimates might be wrong, but if 15,000 couples is 20% ; then there are 75,000 total gay couples, which is 150,000 gay individuals who have a partner.

That means that over 11% of the total adult population are gay people in relationships."

If the total population of the Netherlands is 17 million... then 10% is 1.7 million.

150,000 would be less than 1% of the total population.

I think 🙂

]]>The total population of The Netherlands is about 17 million. Roughly 75% of the population is over 18 years old (from Wiki demographics info), so the total adult (gay and straight) population is about 130 million. If 10% of all people were gay, that would be 130,000 gays.

My math estimates might be wrong, but if 15,000 couples is 20% ; then there are 75,000 total gay couples, which is 150,000 gay individuals who have a partner.

That means that over 11% of the total adult population are gay people in relationships.

So either every gay person is part of a gay couple, or there are a lot more than 11% gays in The Netherlands. [Or the article's numbers (or mine) are wrong.]

I think that there are lots more gay people in The Netherlands than the 2-3% estimated in the States; partly (immigration of gays is probably part) because normalizing homosexuality inevitably leads to more people adopting a same-sex preference. Parents listen up (again): Children can learn to be homosexuals.
